Chef Antonia Lofaso's menu is an invitation to explore the depths of her internal world. The food she serves evokes curiosity that developed from stepping outside the outskirts of Long Island and into the multicultural landscape in Los Angeles. Scopa Italian Roots was opened in 2013 by Lofaso and is sparked to her Italian American tradition. The restaurant received an enthusiastic welcome. Lofaso was trained by famous chefs as well as learned the most advanced cooking techniques However, she was always willing to go against her gut intuitions. In 2011, Lofaso worked together with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to launch Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. Lofaso has found her home within Black Market, and through the collaborations she set up. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to create the work she longed for through this partnership. Black Market is not constrained by a single direction, and this is what the idea behind it. The first course could be potatoes chips, peppers and Shishito. Then, Korean meatballs, wings or lobster rolls. Antonia is the star in this lavish array. Lofaso launched The Busy Mama's Cookbook: 100 Quick and Delicious Recipes, in 2012 alongside Penguin. It also told the story of her challenges as she continued her studies at the French Culinary Institute. She was raising her daughter Xea in addition.
