Marcia Gay Harden
Marcia Gay Harden was born on the 14th of August, 1959, in La Jolla, California, her third child from five. Beverly Bushfield was her maternal grandmother and Thad Harden who was serving in the army service, was the father. Families moved oftenShe first began to be interested with theatre when the family moved to Greece and had seen plays in Athens. Harden started her education in American universities in Europe but returned to the US to finish her education in the University of Texas in 1983; went on to earn an MFA from NYU in the following year, and then was able to begin her career as an actor. Though she appeared in a film since 1986 in the largely unnoticed The Imagemaker (1986), her first major role which was in conjunction with TV movie work, was as the hot, sultry woman fatale in her role in the Coen Brothers' cleverly offbeat tribute to the film of the same name, Miller's Crossing (1990). Harden's beautiful portrayal of Verna the mysterious and attractive moll, was praised by critiques. Harden thereafter worked steadily in supporting roles, including the role of Ava Gardner in Sinatra (1992) which was a biopic on television about Frank Sinatra.
