Alanis Morissette

Alanis Morissette, a Canadian was born on June 1 1974 in Ottawa. Alanis is the feminine name of Alan his father's last name. There are two brothers: Chad (Alanis Twin) as well as Wade. She first started playing guitar and piano when she turned 21. Alanis recorded a 1986 single named Fate Stay With I (b part: Find The Right Man). She recorded two albums as a dance-pop artist in Canada: Alanis (1991) and This Is The Time (1992). In the year she turned 18, she made the move from the city of New York, to Toronto which is where her collaborative efforts with writers and musicians did not work. Then she met her new partner in 1994: Glen Ballard. He had collaborated with other musicians such as Aretha, Michael Jackson, and Barbra. Her move to LA in the year she turned 19 years old. In June of 1995 "Jagged Little Pill" was released via Madonna's Maverick Records. Alanis was able to find an incredibly personal and autobiographical method of writing songs. JLP is the third highest-selling album in the history of music and has been purchased 30 million times all over the globe.
